You were the backbone of 8 living children, 15 grand children, and 8 great grand children. Yesterday I was sitting in my room when I got the news that you were dying, then it was only a matter of minutes before you passed away. I still can’t believe that you are gone forever. I loved your laugh and your smile whenever one of your kids or grandchildren would do something silly. You always told me to finish school so that I can start my life. I am one of the eldest of your grandchildren and my life had not even begun before yours ended. I am proud that you were there to see me celebrate my graduation along with several of my other cousins.Â
I’m gonna miss you sitting at the table eating your favorite pandesals and coffee. You loved watching TV with my Dad and laughing at how silly some of the shows were. I always enjoyed making you laugh and at times til you cried. I only got closer to you once I was in my teens, but you were an amazing woman. I hope you know that your kids would not have been this successful if it wasn’t for you. Now all of the grandchildren are following in their parents’ steps.Â
I wish you could have hung on only 8 more days. Vanessa and I have been away at school and we were coming home next Sunday. But I know you put up a fight and I’m glad that you got to see all your kids one more time before you passed away. I know you were happy and you took care of everything to the best of your abilities.
Now you are in heaven reunited with Grandpa. You are both watching over us now. It is crazy to wrap my mind around the fact that you have passed away and what makes it even harder is the fact that you are the first person that I have been close to that has passed away. I wish I could see your smile and make you laugh one more time. But forevermore I will cherish every memory I have of you. I love you Grandma. Thank you for everything you have done for our family.
